As your HVAC system, I’ve worked really hard this winter to ensure that you’ve been warm and cozy. I’m really looking forward to having a break when spring arrives; before I’ve got to keep you cool and comfortable in summer.
If you’re wondering how to really show your HVAC system some love this Valentine’s Day, here are my top tips (for me, or any other HVAC system). And remember, if your HVAC system is happy, you’ll be happy too! So while you start planning your ideal Valentine’s date, please don’t forget about your poor hardworking HVAC system.
There’s nothing worse than having dirty, dusty air filters. Not only does it make it harder for me to pump air, the air I’m putting out is filthy. Luckily, it’s effortless to change my air filter, and it’s something you should do every three to four months. If you change my air filter now, I’ll still be fresh, clean, and smelling great for Valentine’s Day.
One of the worst things about having my outdoor AC unit in the garden is that it accumulates a lot of grime, dust, and leaves. I’ve even sometimes had snakes and other critters living in my control cabinet. Yuk! Stuff that builds up around my AC unit can seriously mess with my airflow, which makes me work a lot harder than I have to. And, though I hate to do it, I have to use more electricity, which raises your power bill. Sorry! Truth be told, it’s a good idea to check the outdoor AC unit every couple of months, especially after storms, to make sure everything is clean and running smoothly.
I’d really love to have a smarter brain so I can better anticipate your needs. A smart thermostat will allow me to automatically increase or decrease the temperature, based on the time of day and current temperature conditions. Not only does a smart thermostat make your job a lot easier, but it will also save you a lot of money as well.
Valentine’s Day is just before spring, which is when most people start suffering from allergies. If you install an air purifier, I can help get rid of any allergens, germs, or mold that is in the air. This will make the air you breathe a lot cleaner and can help people with allergies or asthma feel more comfortable.
Think of a tune-up like a spa day. It’s a day where I get pampered and looked after. While you can do the tune-up yourself, I’d prefer it if it was done by a professional HVAC expert. They’ll be able to check my refrigerant levels and make sure all my electric and mechanical components are working as they should. If they conclude that some of my parts are getting worn, they’ll be able to replace them, making sure that I keep on trucking for the next year.
